Cellulite Treatment

Rejuvelaser MedSpa is the first MedSpa in Minnesota to offer SmoothShapes cellulite and circumferential reduction treatment. It is a non-invasive, comfortable and relaxing treatment with no down time.

This new technology called Photomology, gently stimulates metabolic processes to minimize the underlying causes of cellulite and restore tissue to a healthier state so skin is smoother and tighter. Photomology uses specific laser and light waves to address the cellulite. A 915 NM laser penetrates into the tissue and is absorbed by lipids causing the fat to liquefy. A 650 NM light modifies the fat cell membranes allowing the liquefied fat to move out of the cell. The lightweight hand held roller glides over the treated area, creating a gentle massage like sensation. The vacuum component is used to position the skin for the most effective light and laser penetration. The rollers also assist in moving the liquefied fat into the lymphatic system so the body can dispose of it.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is a skin condition caused by enlarged fat cells trapped in an inflexible network of collagen. The fat cells then become herniated which causes the dimpling effect. 85% of women develop cellulite.

Is there any discomfort or pain with this treatment?

There should not be a discomfort with this treatment. It is very comfortable and relaxing. Your technician will ask you about your comfort and adjust the vacuum pressure as needed.

How many treatments does it take?

A SmoothShapes treatment consists of 8 sessions, twice a week for four weeks.

After the initial treatments, is there any maintenance that needs to be done?
Yes. Annual maintenance is recommended to maintain your results.

Are the results proven with clinical studies?

Yes. 80% of clinical study participants experience “a positive change in the smoothness of the treated areas.” and 70% experienced “a positive change in the tightness of the skin in the treated areas.” 81% of clinical study participants experienced “significant volumetric reduction in subcutaneous fat.”

How is this different from the other cellulite treatments out there?

Other treatments mainly tighten the skin. This technology uses light energy and laser which melts the fat or liquefies it and it is moved to the lymphatic system and taken away. The underlying causes of cellulite have been addressed with this treatment and it also tightens the skin.
