Drooping Eyelid

Eyelid Rejuve, also known as Blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure that can restore a youthful appearance to the eye area. The upper and lower eyelids are lifted, and excess skin and fat tissue are removed. There are several ways to perform blepharoplasty.

Blepharoplasty is usually performed using local anesthesia and light sleep sedation. The incisions are made within the natural creases of the eyelids.  Your surgeon removes the excess skin, fat and other tissues and sutures the incision with very fine hair-like sutures. New tissue-sparing methods may be use in upper lid blepharoplasty that favors a more natural appearing and safer result and prevents post-blepharoplasty hollowness in the long term.

As with any surgical procedure some scarring should be expected.  The scarring associated with blepharoplasty is quite minimal and practically non-existent after several months.  The scars are placed within the normal creases and folds of the upper and lower eyelids so that when the eyes are open the scars are invisible.  With lower blepharoplasty, the incision can be made either on the inside of the eyelid or right under the lash line.

The post-operative effects are minimal and temporary. Stitches are usually removed after five days. Minor swelling, bruising, and discomfort should disappear within two weeks.
